La pizza "patriotica" si fa a forum italiano!

Did you know that La Pizza Margherita was invented in honour of the Italian queen Margherita upon her first visit to Napoli?  Well our students certainly do!

Students of  “L’italiano dopo scuola” course, celebrated “la festa della repubblica” by learning about the origins of the Italian flag, the importance of the founding of the Italian Republic for Italians and of the beauty of the Port city of Naples. The three week language unit finished with a pizza making day when students following in the foot-steps of “il grande maestro” Antonio Carluccio, made pizze Margherita. This is how they described the day...

“Good day! We made yummy pizza and we had lots of fun.”
Anthea

“It was very educational for us to learn how to make pizza.  The pizza were yummy and we learnt that the Margherita Pizza was named after the Queen of Italy.”
Julian

“It was really good! I’ve never really made pizza before. We had lots of fun! It tasted delicious! We used “basilica”, “olio” and “mozzarella”. I enjoyed making them.”
